Frequently Asked Questions
"What if I don't have a particular project in mind?"
That's great-- it gives you room for exploration! We will have brainstorming sessions as needed. In addition, there are many incredible resources that have inspring ideas for types of projects. Pinterest, Makezine.com, Instructables.com, Thingiverse.com, and countless other sources have incredible project ideas and tutorials/instructions. The Bourn Lab even has it's own Pinterest board!
"I saw a few examples, but what are some other projects I can make?"
Regarding types of projects, anything goes. Projects can range from simple DIY crafts to full-on, heavy-duty constructions. Categories of projects could be:
"Are the activities guided by Cre8 or self-guided?"
Once you have a project in mind, GO for it, and we will help you along the way! Our leaders are also willing to guide certain projects if necessary.
We also have a couple select activities as a club (or smaller groups), such as: Dippin' Dots, design challenges, listening to a speaker.
"What if the Bourn Lab doesn't have the materials for my idea?"
This year we are developing a new funding system. If you're project idea is approved and well-thought-out, you may fill out a form that tells the Bourn Lab which materials to buy. These materials will come out of the Cre8 budget, so you won't have to pay for anything yourself.
